3″ O.D. Die Stock – Goliath Button Die Holder to suit 3″ O.D. Circular Button Dies. Button Die Holders, also known as a Die Stocks, are used to hold a round button during the process of cutting (or chasing) an external thread. Bordo button die holders can be used with solid or split button dies. Split button dies may be slightly compressed or expanded to provide some compensation for wear, or to achieve different classes of thread fit. Two screws in the stock bear in to indentations on either side of the slit, tending to squeeze the slit closed, whilst a third screw with a tapered tip screws in to the slit forcing it open. Long, alloy steel, knurled handles provide balance, control and good grip, even in the presence of cutting fluids.
